Former coal lobbyist Andrew Wheeler is Trump’s latest nominee to lead the Environment Protection Agency. Wheeler has spent his entire career working against our environment.
During Wednesday’s hearing, he told a Senate committee that he’d strike a deal to roll back California’s fuel-economy standards and environmental protections. We can only imagine how much more damage he will do if he’s confirmed by the Senate this week.
Andrew Wheeler is the latest in a revolving door of oil and coal lobbyists to come into the Trump Administration to deregulate the very industries they once called home. In his short time as interim EPA Administrator, he’s already gutted clean car standards, rolled back Obama-era greenhouse gas rules, and continued his brand of climate change denial. We cannot allow this attack to go unchallenged.
